CCAL By-Laws
1. ATHLETIC ELIGIBILITY POLICY
A.  To be eligible for any level of CCAL competition, a student must be enrolled either full-time or part-time CCAL member school.
B. To be eligible to participate in interscholastic varsity competition, students must be enrolled in grades 6 through
12 (middle school-high school).
C. No player shall have reached his/her 19th birthday on or before August 1 of the current school year.
D. Players may not receive financial aid for athletic participation (i.e.: athletic scholarships)
E. Eligible students must be successfully progressing academically with the expectation of meeting each specific
school’s academic/behavioral requirements of sports participation.
F. A student may also take college courses while pursuing his/her high school diploma.

2. PENALTIES/FINES FOR INELIGIBLE PLAYERS
Schools allowing an ineligible player to participate in any event will be required to forfeit said game in which the
ineligible player played

3. GENDER POLICY.
Participation by boys in girls' sports and girls in boys’ sports in any event hosted and/or sponsored by a CCAL school is prohibited unless the sport is designated as a co-ed sport.

4. ROSTERS.
In order to be eligible to participate in the CCAL, each student athlete must be recorded in the CCAL OFFICIAL ENROLLMENT ROSTER. Exceptions include legitimate additions to the student body (new enrollment). If a new player is added to the rooster the AD must immediately notify the CCAL to be added to the CCAL OFFICIAL ENROLLMENT ROSTER. The student athlete must adhere to a 2-week or 2 game grace period.

In order to be eligible to participate in the CCAL, each coach must be recorded in the CCAL OFFICIAL COACHES ENROLLMENT ROSTER.

*LATE PENALTIES.  Participation in CCAL tournaments is prohibited until all required documents are on file in the CCAL office.

5.  EJECTION POLICY:
ATHLETES:  If any CCAL player is ejected from any contest, he/she will not be allowed to participate in the next scheduled contest but may sit on the team bench.   If the same player is ejected a second time from any contest, he/she will not be allowed to participate in the next two scheduled contests but may sit on the team bench.  If the same player is ejected from any contest a third time, he or she will not be able to participate in or attend any sport as a team member or as a school spectator until the beginning of the next school year.

COACHES:
If any CCAL coach is ejected from any contest, he or she must leave the venue immediately; he or she may not attend the next scheduled contest. In the event that a coach is ejected, the Assistant Coach may assume Head Coach status (the assistant coach must be on the roster). If the same coach is ejected a second time from any contest, he or she will not be allowed to attend the next two scheduled contests.  If the same coach is ejected from any contest a third time, he or she will not be able to participate in or attend any sport until the beginning of the next school year. If there is not an assistant coach then the game is forfeited.

An ejection is a judgment call; therefore, there can be an appeal to the league.  If a wrong player is identified, a correction can be made. Individual schools may choose to enforce a more stringent code of conduct regarding this rule within their own schools

In an effort to reduce the number of missed reports, all ejections should be reported by the Director of Athletics of the offending school to the CCAL Office within 24 HOURS OF THE VIOLATION
